Dr. Mark Plott has always enjoyed the company of dogs, cats, and even a memorable raccoon who all fostered his love of animals.
While in middle school, he worked at a Tennessee Walking Horse stable. He attended college at UNC Chapel Hill with intentions of becoming a CPA, but after some reconsideration, he decided becoming a veterinarian was his path. Dr. Plott entered veterinary school at North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine, and after graduation in 1990, he joined Foster Animal Hospital and has been here ever since.
Dr. Plott loves to do surgery and enjoys working with older cats and dogs. In order to augment his knowledge in these two areas he has pursued training in canine rehabilitation and is now a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist. Working with our Paws In Motion Canine Rehabilitation Center, he enjoys seeing the physical improvements in his patients. He really enjoys this community and has watched it grow tremendously over the years.
Dr. Plott and his wife are transitioning to being empty nesters as his three adult children attend college. He also has five cats and four dogs. In his free time, he enjoys hiking with his family, small DIY projects, and running.
